Is Your iPhone Slowing Down? We Have The Reason Why

A lot of people have complained about their old iPhones slowing down especially when they update their iOS software.

This observation has been confirmed to be true on Wednesday by Apple as the company said they released a software feature last year to help mitigate issues with its ageing lithium-ion battery. As batteries get older, their ability to hold charge reduces significantly especially when they are low or in cold temperature.
In this state, they cannot perform at peak capacity and could shut down when overworked. This happened with the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6S last year. The processors in those devices demanded speeds that the batteries could not handle so they shut down.
This development inspired the introduction of a new software feature in last year's iOS 10.2.1 that slows down the processor's response so it doesn't take on multiple tasks at once especially when the battery is low or the temperature is cold.
This feature applies to the iPhone 6, 6Plus, 6S, 6SPlus and SE. This year's iOS 11.2 extended the feature to the iPhone7 and 7 Plus and it will be also be applied to other Apple devices in the future.
